   *   TrueType, which changes glyph widths to accommodate regular

   *   hinting widths across multiple sizes and device aspect ratios.

   *   Microsoft's GDI implementation of anti-aliasing.  Not traditional
   *   anti-aliasing as the outlines were hinted before the sampling.  The
   *   widths matched the bi-level rendering.
